There is no cure for multiple sclerosis. However, some treatments, such as stem cell therapy, can speed up the recovering process after an attack, and slow down the progression of the disease.
Medications can help MS patients, both with stiffness and pain and their mental health. But, if medications are not right for the person, they can’t ease the inflammation and relapses.
Physical therapy and exercise can be very difficult and tiring for MS patients, but they are very important. Those diagnosed with MS should be as active as possible, and no matter how difficult does it seem at a beginning, gradually, every person will improve their condition.
To improve their condition, and relieve the signs and symptoms of multiple sclerosis, every patient has a number of activities that can do by himself, in addition to his therapy, or without - in case of mild MS.
What can be done at home?
Resting
Exercising (Exercises that help you improve balance, strength, muscle tone, balance and coordination)
Cool down (Avoiding exposure to heat, and use cooling devices because MS symptoms worsen when body temperature is risen)
Balanced diet (Diet low in saturated fat but high in omega-3 fatty acids is recommended. Researches have shown that vitamin D also helps with symptom relief)
Avoid stress
