Anything wrong with the neurological system can be a sign of multiple sclerosis, the most common are sensory and motor problems, but the disease can manifest in many different ways.
First signs of MS vary depending on the amount of type of nerves that were damaged, as well as the amount of damaged nerves. Some people with severe MS may lose the ability to walk, while others may experience long periods without any new symptoms.
The most common symptoms:
Muscle weakness
Vision difficulties
Problems with coordination and balance
Numbness and tingling in limbs
Memory loss
Bladder and bowel problems
Fatigue, emotional changes and sometimes depression
Muscle spasms
Sexual dysfunction
This disease might be painful and tiring. It can also affect mental health and cause depression. Symptoms are usually mild at first, but can suddenly progress to extreme, after which they again improve.
Relapses usually happen without any prediction. However, they don’t happen more than twice a year, and usually in the spring and summer. Pregnancy can be a short-term cure for women, but after the delivery, the risk increases. Over time, different events were believed to trigger the relapse, such as vaccination or physical trauma, but so far no connection is found.
