CELLS-MUSCULOSKELETAL 2016-Amsterdam conferenceFrom 7th-9th of October, in VU University medical Center in Amsterdam, representatives of Swiss Medica clinic (Vera Djordjevic M.D.) attended CELLS - a conference focused on regenerative musculoskeletal medicine. The CELLS Conference attracted most significant scientists and M.Ds in the musculoskeletal field from around the globe.
The regenerative medicine science and procedures covered at the Conference are relevant to medical workers treating musculoskeletal conditions. International expert speakers provided participants with a well-constructed base in the antigenic, immuno-modulatory, reparative and proliferative outcome of cells, platelets and factors.
Participants came to a genuine understanding of how to deliver regulatorily-compliant, safe and efficacious regenerative medicine procedures in their everyday practice. Special attention was focused on tissue extraction, imaging, cell/tissue processing and characterization, cell product injection, data collection, technology platforms and others.
Main lectures debates and presentations regarded stem cells in regenerative medicine were as follows: Contemporary techniques of adipose tissue harvesting and Bone marrow aspiration, cell characterization protocols, cell counting, concepts of minimal manipulation, cell processing devices, bone regeneration, reconstruction and repair using mesenchymal stromal/stem cells, overview of current clinical trials in using adult stem cells, application of mesenchymal stem cells in rheumatology and many other stem cell technique practices for treating musculoskeletal conditions.
